Rain, Hail or Shine, A Guide to a Wet Weather Shoot: Jessica + James’ at the University of Sydney

Rain, Hail or Shine, A Guide to a Wet Weather Shoot: Jessica + James’ at the University of Sydney

If you’re planning a pre-wedding photoshoot and the weather forecast predicts rain, don’t fret. A rainy day doesn’t have to ruin your photoshoot plans.

With a little creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude, you can capture some amazing shots, just like Jessica and James did on their pre-wedding photoshoot at the University of Sydney.

Here’s how they made it work:

  1. Have a Backup Plan: Jessica and James originally planned to have their photoshoot at a different location, but due to the weather, they had to change their plans. They were able to pivot quickly and decided on the University of Sydney as their new location. Make sure to trust your photographer with new location choices at the last minute. As they say, when one door closes, another one opens. The University of Sydney provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful couple’s photoshoot. The iconic sandstone buildings, lush greenery, and stunning views made for some truly breathtaking photos.
  2. Embrace the Rain: Rainy days provide some unique and beautiful photo opportunities. Jessica and James took advantage of the overcast sky which gave the best lighting. They also weren’t too scared to get their hair a little wet near the end to get a cute rain shot!
  3. Keep a Positive Attitude: Rainy days can be a downer, but Jessica and James kept a positive attitude throughout their photoshoot. They laughed and joked around, which made for some genuinely joyful and candid shots. Don’t let the rain dampen your spirits. Embrace the moment and have fun. We were also able to incorporate James’ beloved car into some of the shots, which added a personal touch. James’ Honda Type S was a real show-stopper and added an extra element of excitement to the photoshoot. He was proud to show off his beloved car and we were more than happy to incorporate it into some of the shots. James’ love for his car was clear and we were thrilled to be able to capture that passion in the photos.
  4. Work with Experienced Photographers: Having experienced photographers can make all the difference in capturing beautiful and memorable shots on a rainy day. We know how to work with the lighting, the environment, and the rain to create stunning images.

Jessica and James were a joy to work with, and their love for each other was evident in every shot. They were both so natural in front of the camera, and their chemistry was undeniable. We had so much fun capturing their love and laughter on camera, and we’re thrilled with how the photos turned out. As a wedding company, we understand that planning a wedding can be stressful, which is why we strive to make the pre-wedding photoshoot experience as fun and enjoyable as possible. We want our couples to feel relaxed and at ease, so that their love can shine through in every photo.

So, there you have it. With these tips, you can turn a rainy day into a memorable and beautiful photoshoot. Don’t let a little rain ruin your plans. Embrace it, have fun, and capture some stunning shots that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
