When Emily & Cassidy enquired with us they let us know that they were planning their wedding from abroad!
Residing in Los Angeles, California they decided they wanted to have their wedding in Australia (Cassidy is originally from Sydney and the pair met abroad while studying in the US!) choosing the two most iconic venues in Sydney including a ceremony space within Royal Botanic Gardens and the Sydney Opera House for their reception.
We began the day with individual preps on both sides. A lot of smiles, fun was had, being surrounded by amazing bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents all in high spirits and bringing those good vibes.
The star of the show was absolutely the oversized, delicate, fluffy bow on the back of Emily’s gown from Luv Bridal. This bow needs its own special mention! We also love the use of red in all of the florals for the day. Created by the amazing Kobayashi Flowers.
With a quick glass of sparkling we were then off to the ceremony. Heading to Lion Gate Lodge the space was beautifully decorated with gorgeous red aisle florals. The expression on Cassidy’s face when Emily came down the aisle was priceless, as well as the few tears he shed during the ceremony. Bless his heart. We abolsutely love the emotional roller coaster that is a wedding day with two people who are so in love with each other!
Following the ceremony we then headed into portraits (our fave part!). With the amazing Royal Botanic Gardens for us to use, we wandered the gardens to get all that good light and beautiful garden backdrop! We then headed to Sydney Opera House to get some more portaits inside on the amazing red steps. So on brand with the wedding day florals! Also we can’t forget those back shots to get that bow in all its glory!
The reception began and the first thing we did was drool over the cakes. These cakes were loaded with the most amazing toppings. YUM.
Reception had all the good stuff, grand entrance, heartfelt and funny speeches by loved ones as well as first dance that was beautifully choreographed to the Beauty and The Beast theme song. The night ended with a lot of dancing and one last kiss surrounded by sparklers and harbour bridge backdrop!
